Ronald E. Baronoski,58,of 45 Shore Rd., died Saturday, Jan. 1 at UMASS Memorial Healthcare, Memorial Campus in Worcester after a brief illness.
He leaves his parents, Edward V. and Loretta (Czyzewski) Baronoski of Spencer, two brothers Robert R. Baronoski of E.Brookfield, and Richard E. and his wife Mary A. Baronoski of No.Brookfield, a sister Linda C. Langella of No.Brookfield, four nieces, Bethe, Rebecca, Jenna and Julie Baronoski and a nephews Matthew Baronoski.
Mr. Baronoski was a tour superintendent in the mail processing dept. of the Worcester Post office where he worked for 33 years, retiring in 2001. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of the American Legion Post 41 in No.Brookfield.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, the Lake Lashaway Association, Snowbirds Snowmobile Club, National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees, Chapt. 255, the St. Mary's Boosters Club, Polish American Veterans and the P.N.I. Club in Worcester.
He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Worcester, where he was a star basketball player known as "The Baron", and was a member of the winning team that played in the Boston Garden in 1964 that won the New England Basketball Championship. He recently was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame. He once attended Becker College.
Born in Worcester, he lived here for 20 years.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan. 5 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 296 Main St., No.Brookfield. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester with Military Honors.
