WORCESTER-John F. “Jack” Fitzpatrick, 62, loving husband, father and papa, of 31 Guilford Street formerly of 131 Fairfield Street died and went home to Jesus January 1st in Saint Vincent Hospital, after an illness. He leaves his wife of 35 years, Patricia A. (Stubbert) Fitzpatrick, a son, Michael F. and his wife Kimberly J. Fitzpatrick of Worcester, 2 daughters, Kelly A. wife of Paul N. Ruttencutter of Worcester and Shannon C. Fitzpatrick and her fiancé Michael L. Wilson of Worcester, a brother, Gerald T. Fitzpatrick of Worcester, 2 sisters, Margaret Ritacco of Dudley and Geraldine Grimes of Worcester, 6 grandchildren, Amanda, Kayla, Shane, Michael, Lexy and Shae, several nephews and nieces. 2 brothers James and Charles Fitzpatrick and 2 sisters, Mary Skerry and Anne Stinfield predeceased him.
He was born in Oxford the son of Charles J. Fitzpatrick, Jr. and Elsie M. (Gagnon) Fitzpatrick and graduated from South High School. Mr. Fitzpatrick worked as a custodian for St. John’s High School for many years until retiring in 1993. In his retirement he owned an operated The Poet’s Den on Millbury Street in Worcester from 1993-1996 and Thrifty Fitzy’s from 1996-2000. He was an avid pool player and loved poetry.
The funeral is Wednesday, January 5th with a service at 11:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Tuesday, January 4th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
