Doris M. Landry, 79, of 125 Woodland Ave. died December 31, 2004 in her residence. A lifelong resident of the area, she was born in Laconia on June 19, 1925, the daughter of Joseph J. and Georgianna (Dionne) Freo.
She graduated from Laconia High School in 1944 and was employed as a payroll clerk for 35 years at Scott & Williams Company until it’s closure. Prior to her retirement in 1998, she was employed in the billing department of the New Hampshire State Hospital in Concord for 19 years.
Mrs. Landry was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church. Her husband, Wilfred J. Landry died in 1972.
She was a noted animal lover and cared for a succession of stray cats.
Family members include twin daughters, Georgianna T. English of Gilford and Emily Landry Drenberg of Tampa FL; a son, John J. Landry of Lakeport; four grandchildren, Christopher Miles English of Methuen MA, Jay J. Landry of Manchester NH, Sarah Ellen Hargis of Tampa FL and Jennifer Ellen McLeod of Laconia; two great grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Mary Phillips of Laconia; two brothers, Joseph E. Freo of Lacey WA and Patrick J. Freo of Lakeport; several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A Memorial Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington St. Lakeport Saturday, January 8th at 11 AM. Urn burial will be in the spring in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NH Humane Society, PO Box 572., Laconia NH 03247. The Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. assisted the family with arrangements.
