Obituary

LEICESTER-Miriam A. (Kangas) Fotiades, 87, of 473 Marshall Street, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Her husband Christos Fotiades died in 1976. She leaves 3 sons, George C. and Michael C. Fotiades both of Leicester, Adam C. and his wife Jeri Fotiades of Worcester, 2 daughters, Demetra C. Leveillee, and Deborah C. wife of Michael Milosh all of Leicester, 6 grandchildren and a great granddaughter. 3 brothers, William, Tauno and George Kangas and 2 sisters, Lillian Jones and Femmy Matta predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Matti and Otilija (Saranpaa) Kangas and had live in Leicester for many years. Mrs. Fotiades was a graduate of Commerce High School, and had worked as clerk at Lederman’s Bakery before retiring in 1976. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, but most of all she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

The funeral is Tuesday, January 4th with a service at 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, January 3rd from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice Program, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608 or Family Services of Central Massachusetts, 31 Harvard Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
