Worcester—Shirley C. (Carter) Blood, 83, died Thursday, December 30, 2004, at UMass Memorial Lake Ave. She leaves her husband of 61 years, Arthur B. Blood; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Richard Booth of Ithaca, NY; a daughter-in-law, Diane Blood of Millis; 2 grandsons, Sean V. Blood of Worcester and Benjamin E. Booth of Ithaca, NY; a granddaughter, Sarah E. Booth of Ithaca; and 2 great-grandsons, Michael P. and Zachary D. Blood of Worcester. She was predeceased by a son, Bruce Blood.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Harry and Esther (Wheeler) Carter. She was a graduate of South High School and Fairchild Secretarial School. She was a secretary at State Mutual Life Assurance Co. and Worcester Pressed Steel. Mrs. Blood was a member and former deaconess of Greendale People’s Church and a member of the women’s fellowship and the Proto 4 of the church. She was also a member of the New England Lily Society.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 3, at the Greendale People’s Church, 25 Francis St. Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. is directing arrangements.
