Obituary

Myrtle Joyce (Sellars) Crabtree, 76, of Millbury and formerly of Framingham, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home following a courageous battle with lung cancer.
She was born in Cambridge on June 28, 1938 the daughter of the late Chesley Gordon Sellars and Bessie May (Mills) Sellars.
Myrtle was the beloved and devoted wife for 55 years of Thomas Marsten Crabtree of Millbury formerly of Framingham. Loving mother of Thomas Crabtree of Kailua, HI; William Crabtree of Wrentham and Steven Crabtree of Jenks, OK. Caring “NANNY” of Haley Crabtree, Piper Crabtree, Victoria Crabtree, Austin Crabtree, Trevor Crabtree and Courtney Crabtree. Sister of Bob Sellars of Ipswich; Irene Chase of Millbury and Esther Benn of Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Also survived by six nieces and three nephews.
Myrtle has resided in Millbury for the past three years and previously resided in Framingham for over 46 years. She spent her formative years in Natick and was a graduate of Natick High School. She had a long and distinguished career of over 40 years as a Dental Assistant beginning in downtown Natick and retiring after 25 years with Barry Levin, DDS of Natick.
Her family was one of the original founding Natick families of the Wellesley Park Assembly of God Church in Natick and Wayland. She was devoted to her Christian faith and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She has been a member of the New Hope Community Church of Marlborough for many years and volunteered her time and talent to the church. She enjoyed many hours and outings shopping with her sister Irene and the time they spent together. Myrtle was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt to her family whom she cherished as the center of her life. She always enjoyed visits with her grandchildren in Hawaii, Oklahoma and in Massachusetts and the activities that they delighted doing together. She will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew and loved her and will be greatly missed by all of the lives that she touched.
Visitations will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Her funeral service and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Bryant Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Interim Pastor Rob Wood of the First Baptist Church of Holden.
Interment will follow in the Crabtree lot in Glenwood Cemetery in South Natick.
In lieu of flowers, her family kindly suggests that memorial gifts in Myrtle’s memory be sent to the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Avenue, Worcester, MA 01602 and would be appreciated.
