Obituary

Ethel M. (Blair) Gillis of Dedham, died Dec. 31, 2004 at the Charwell House Nursing Home in Norwood. She was 97. Mrs. Gillis was born in Newton and was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Gilmore) Blair. Mrs. Gillis spent her time raising her family and running the family home. She was a Dedham resident for 50 years. She was a member of the VFW Parkway Seniors of West Roxbury.
She was the wife of the late Edward J. Gillis. She is survived by her children John E. Gillis and his wife Anne of Stoughton, William J. Gillis and his wife Mary of Walpole, Albert E. Gillis and his wife Donna of Roslindale, Margaret Danovich of Newcastle, DE and the late Stephen A. Gillis and Carol Ludwig. She was the mother in law of Nancy Gillis Murphy of Walpole. She was the cousin of Ethel Williams of Kingston. Mrs. Gillis also leaves 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Albert Blair.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Tue. at 8 am. Funeral mass in St. Anne’s Church, Readville, at 9 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Mon. from 4-8 pm. Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. Donations may be made in Ethel’s memory to the Home For Little Wanderers, 161 So. Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
