Gloria Maria Cerra, a 9 year resident of Lynnfield and former longtime resident of Jackson Heights and Long Island, New York, entered into eternal life on Friday, February 13, 2015 at her home in Lynnfield following an extended illness. She was 84 years old.
Gloria was born in Barranquilla, Colombia on December 31, 1930, a daughter of the late Manuel Cerra and Julia (Consuegra) Cerra. She grew up in Barranquilla, Colombia where she was educated and graduated high school there. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia. Gloria worked for over 30 years as a Lab Technician for New York Telephone Company and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She enjoyed traveling and loved to shop.
Gloria is the devoted sister of Julia McColl of Lynnfield and Ana Isabel DelGardo of Colombia. She is the loving aunt to Karen McColl-Ezekiel and her husband John of Lynnfield and Irene McColl-Ford and her husband Daniel of Tewksbury. She is also the loving great-aunt to Reagan, Finley, Hayden and Hunter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Gloria's Funeral Mass on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 9 A.M. in Our Lady Of The Assumption Church, 758 Salem St. Lynnfield. Her burial will be private. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
