SACO- Bradley E. Parslow, Jr. passed away on February 12th surrounded by his loving family and closest friends at Maine Medical Center after a sudden but brief illness.
Born in Biddeford Maine on December 9th, 1992, Bradley was the son of Bradley E. Parslow Sr. and Melissa J. Sampson Parslow.
Bradley was a hard worker and earned a living with a variety of jobs from landscaping to roofing and carpentry. He also attended Massesbesic schools as a teen.
Bradley's sense of adventure is fondly remembered by friends and family. He had a quick sense of humor and was always ready to help a friend. He had a fun, care-free, energetic approach to life and was always quick with a smile. Bradley enjoyed time with his family. He was a source of support for his Dad. He always took the time to connect with his mother as a day did not go by that they did not talk. He had a special bond with his youngest sister, Emma, who is twelve years younger, and enjoyed taking her places and could never tell her no. Bradley was also looking forward to becoming an uncle this year for the first time as his brother Michael is expecting his first child this summer. He was also very protective of his younger sister Skye and kept tabs on her as she went through school as big brothers often do. He was also fortunate to experience true love in his six year relationship with Shawna that earned them the title of "Cupid's Couple".
Bradley enjoyed many activites especially in the outdoors. You would often find him on an ATV in the woods or relaxing at one of his favorite places, the Parslow family camp.
Bradley had many great lifelong friendships. Most notable was his friendship that began in childhood wth Manny Gimmick and held steadfast through the years. He was always there for his friends.
Although young, Bradley was always quick to help family in friends in need. In death, he also displayed that strength of character with his decision to be an organ donor. In his death, he provided the gift of life that has impacted three families.
Bradley is survived by his father, Bradley Parslow Sr of Buxton; his mother and step father, Melissa Parslow and Shawn Rumery of Saco; his girlfriend, Shawna Rumery; his brother, Michael Rumery and his wife Mikayla of East Waterboro; his sister, Skye Parslow and her boyfriend Chris Desruisseaux of Sanford, his sister,Emma Parslow of Saco; and grandparents, Robert and Anita Parslow of Ruskin, FL and Gayle and Bob Houle of Saco. Other surviving family members include many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his grandfather, Smokey.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday evening, Feb. 17 from 3 – 7 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1 PM at the Hollis Center Baptist Church, Rt. 202 in Hollis. Pastor Ron Sargent will officiate.
