WORCESTER – Mrs. Mona J. (Arsenault) Penny, 87, passed away Wednesday, February 11th at the Knollwood Nursing Home.
Mona is survived by her four sons, Anthony J. Penny and his wife Susan of Paxton, Francis J. Penny Jr. and his wife Angela of Worcester, Joseph H. Penny and his wife Sharon of Worcester, and David J. Penny of Worcester. She leaves a sister, Dorothy Terry of Charlton and eleven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mona was predeceased by her brother, Robert Arsenault and her sisters, Inez Fredette, and Vivian Harder.
Mona was born on December 9, 1927 in Roxbury, Massachusetts a daughter of the late Joseph and Matilda (Wadman) Arsenault. Loving wife of forty-six years to the late Francis J. Penny.
A lifelong resident of Worcester, Mona was a graduate of Brookfield High School She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride in raising her family, cooking and spending lots of time together. She also enjoyed working at her son’s business, American Printing and Envelope, Inc.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Loreto Church in Worcester.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Summit Elderly Care on Grafton St. in Worcester as well as the staff at Knollwood Nursing Facility on East Mountain St. for their exceptional care. We would also like to extend our sincerest thanks to her personal care givers, Nancy Warner and Wendy Haglund.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday February 14th with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Loreto Church at 11:00am. Her visiting hours will be at Our Lady of Loreto Church prior to Funeral Mass from 9:30am to 11:00am Interment will be in St John’s Cemetery.
