Acushnet – Roland L. Raymond, 70, of Acushnet died at home after a long illness on December 30, 2004. He was the husband of Roberta (Amancio) Raymond.
Mr. Raymond was born in New Bedford, son of the late Leo L. and Azalea (Berube) Raymond, and resided in the Greater New Bedford area all of his life. He had served in the National Guard as a Staff Sergeant. He was employed as a supervisor by Acushnet Company, New Bedford where he worked for 36 years prior to retiring in 1984 due to illness. Mr. Raymond enjoyed woodworking, his bird and dog and loved his home.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by 3 sons: Glen Raymond of Yarmouth, Donald Raymond of Yarmouth and Eric Raymond of Graceland, NJ; a daughter: Lisa Boucher of Pawtucket, RI; a brother: Gerald Raymond of Acushnet; a sister: Diane Raymond of New Bedford; 7 grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
Mr. Raymond’s services will be private.
