Worcester- Juana Colón, 86, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015 at UMASS Memorial Healthcare- University Campus. She is survived by her daughter Maria Teresa Barrett; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and her four siblings July, Ruben, Sonia, and Socorro Madera.
Juana leaves a great legacy of passion for the service of others, and her love for God-Jesus. Until the day she departed, she was very independent and strong willed. She would go out with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and they would be tired before she was. Juana is a great example of an extraordinary human being to be followed.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 11a.m. until 12:00 noon in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon in the funeral home, and a burial will follow at Hope Cemetery of Worcester.
