Joseph N. Burke

Joseph N. Burke, 99, of Anderson died February 6, 2015 at Vermillion Place after a brief illness.
He was born May 9, 1915 in Anderson to Lee and Blanche (Browne) Burke and was a lifelong Anderson resident graduating from St. Mary's High School in 1933.
He worked for Delco Remy Division of General Motors from 1933 until retiring as a Supervisor in 1974. After retirement, he worked in real estate and was a bail bondsman.
He was a life member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a life member of Elks and a member of Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; hiswife, Martha (Brinker) Burke whom he married April 6, 1940 died October 24, 2006; his son Lee J. Burke died Feb. 18, 1988 and his sister, Mary E. Burke.
He is survived by his friends, Leo Conwell, Patrick Cunningham and his friend and caregiver for many years, Carol Masters.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 am Tuesday February 10, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Williams officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. John's Children's Clinic.
