Obituary

Milton Lee Morse, Jr., 80, of New Bedford died Friday February 6, 2015 at Royal Taber Street Nursing Home after a brief illness. He was the husband of Van "Vanessa" (Carroll) Morse.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Milton L. and Evelyn (Jameson) Morse, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.

Mr. Morse was formerly employed as a machinist at Revere Copper and Brass until his retirement.

During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Very active in sports throughout his life, he especially enjoyed baseball and golf and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. His greatest hobby was dancing, with he and his wife having won many dancing contests throughout the years.

He is survived by his wife, Van; three daughters, Donna Divona and her husband Frank of San Pedro, CA, Deborah Mucillo and her husband Steven of Laguna Beach, CA, and Diane Eccleston and her husband Frank of New Bedford; a brother, Chester Morse of New Bedford; four grandchildren, Melissa, Candice, Christopher, and Jenifer; and six great-grandchildren, Cahley, Jillian, Jeremy, Michael, Layla, and Jude.

He was the grandfather of the late Jeffrey Divona and brother of the late Patricia Walsh.


His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
