Obituary

Mildred Catherine (Godfrey) Curtin, age 83, of Brockton, died February 3, 2015, at St. Joseph Manor following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Robert Curtin. Millie was born March 22, 1931 in Randolph, daughter of the late Albert and Josephine (Conroy) Godfrey. She graduated from Stetson High School in Randolph and worked for many years at Brockton Hospital. She was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan and a sideline supporter of the East Bridgewater Vikings. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing poker and bingo. She is survived by her sister Esther West and preceded in death by her brother Albert Godfrey and sister Mary Byron. She leaves behind her three beloved children Cathy, Barbara, and Robert and her daughter-in-law Sheryl. She was the Grandmother of Heather and Michael Gunnoud, Matthew, Michael, and Mackenzi Curtin and Great-Grandmother of Colin and Reese Gunnoud and Matthew Curtin, Jr. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Suffering from declining health over the past few years, she became a resident of St. Joseph’s Manor where she received excellent care from the staff and other members of the Applewood floor team. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to the St. Joseph’s Manor activities fund http://sjmbrockton.org as Millie enjoyed participating in the activities provided by that program.
Visitation will be held at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, on Saturday February 7, from 9 to 10am a funeral service at 10. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
