Francis J. Bradley Jr. an 11 year resident of Tewksbury and formerly of Charlestown, entered into Eternal life at Woodbriar of Wilmington on Monday, February 2, 2015. He was 85 years old.
Francis was born in Boston on April 30, 1929, a son of the late Francis J. Bradley and Helen (Griffin) Bradley. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and Graduated from Commerce High School in 1947. Francis worked for 38 years as a Manager of Billing and Adjustment for the Boston Water and Sewer Commission. Following his retirement, Francis worked at the Boston Sports Museum for several years. Francis was a member of the Charlestown Old Schoolboys Association. He also loved the Red Sox and the Bruins.
Francis is the beloved husband of 61 years to Margaret N. (Gallivan) Bradley. He is the devoted father of Stephen Bradley and his wife Barbara of Reading, Anne MacKay and her husband Joseph of Tewksbury, John Bradley of Haverhill, Kathleen Bradley of Reading, Tricia Bradley of Melrose, and Fran Bradley and his wife Loretta of Tewksbury. He is the loving Papa to Kristin, Lauren, Shawn, Erin, and his great-grandson Bradley. Francis is the beloved brother of Mary Laura, Helen Hart, Carol Love, and the late John Bradley, and Eileen DiNicola. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Francis’ Funeral on Friday February 6, 2015 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St., Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4 - 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
