Marie Jeanne Belanger, 91, of Derry, NH, died Saturday January 31, 2015 in Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. She was born in New Britain, CT on October 1, 1923, a daughter of Anguste and Alfredina (Parent) Fillion. Marie had been a resident of Derry since 1984, formerly living in Quebec and in 1964 moved to Lawrence, MA. She was employed with Western Electric in North Andover, MA, Dasa Electronics and Raytheon. She was a Teacher’s Aide as well in the bi-lingual program for the city of Lawrence.
Marie is survived by four daughters; Gisele Pelletier of Penacook, NH, Nicole Levesque of Derry, Diane Arruda of Manchester, NH, Cecile Caron of Derry, three sons; Lucien Belanger of Sandown, NH, Rejean Belanger of Salem, NH, and Raymond Belanger of Derry, nineteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren as well as her nieces and nephews, her brother and sister; Laurent Fillion and Rita Martineau both residing in Lyster, Quebec. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Benoit L. Belanger on February 26, 1995.
Calling hours were held in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 4-8pm. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Cross Church in Derry on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 10am. Entombment followed at St. Mary’s Mausoleum of Lawrence, MA.
