NATICK: Marjorie A. (McHale) Doucette Brovelli, age 88, a warm and kindhearted lady who was devoted to her family and her faith, died peacefully on Saturday night, January 31, 2015, at the home of her daughter. She was the loving wife of the late Peter Brovelli and Edward Doucette.
Born, raised and educated in Natick, Marge was a daughter of the late William J. and Rose Bridget (Reilly) McHale. She was a member of the Natick High School Class of 1944, and after graduation worked at the Robert Gair Company.
Marge and Ed Doucette were married and settled in Natick to raise a family of their own. Ed died while both of their children were very young, and Marge returned to the work force and raised them with faith, love and determination. Employed with the Town of Natick for several years, she accepted a position with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, eventually becoming a caseworker, a position from which she retired.
While at her 25th high school reunion, Marge and Peter Brovelli became reacquainted. They married in 1974 and lived happily until his death in 2013. A member of Saint Patrick’s Parish from the day she was baptized, she had volunteered for various church related events and tasks throughout her life. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and was faithful to the Adoration Chapel schedule until ill health restricted her availability. Marge was devoted to her family and bowling, Bingo, travel, and reading a good book.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Rose and her husband Eric, with whom she made her home for the last two years; her son, Edward Doucette and his wife Marie of Groton; grandchildren Michelle (Rose) Carlino, David and Dennis Rose, and Ashley Doucette; great-grandchildren Ryan and Lauren Carlino, and Brea Rose; and many nieces, nephews, and their families. She was also the sister of the late Rosaline Lenihan, Katherine Cooney, Marion Holt, William J. McHale, Jr, and James F. McHale.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, on Wednesday, Feb. 4th at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery.
