James F. "Fred" Mahaffey
March 21, 1932- January 25, 2015
James F. "Fred" Mahaffey, 82, of Middletown, died January 25, 2015 at Middletown Nursing and Rehab Center.
He was born on March 21, 1932 in Argos, Indiana the son of Charles E. and Alpha (Talley) Mahaffey. He was employed by Delco Remy for 34 years, retiring in 1989. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and he enjoyed fishing and gardening. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and his dog Ciera.
Family surviving includes his wife, Eva Jean (Neal) Mahaffey whom he married on September 18, 1954, 3 children: Pam (Tom) Watson of Pendleton, Cheryl (Kenneth) Bowman, Jr. of Anderson, and Timothy (Angie) Mahaffey of Middletown. 7 Grandchildren: Shannon Watson, Jessica Watson, Zachary (Brooke Tubbs) Bowman; Chris (Beth Foley) Bowman, Chelsea (Jonathon) Watson, Patrick Mahaffey, and Katie Mahaffey, and ten great grandchildren: Jordan Allen, Destinee Allen, Aubree Johnson, Alyssa Johnson, Izaiah Watson, Kobe Watson, Zyon Watson, Kayleigh Bowman, Calleigh Bowman and Laniey Bowman; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Charles Mahaffey and a sister, Mary Louise McCowan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 10 A.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Tim Warrum officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Pleasant Valley Church in Middletown.
