Nell Womack Gholson, age 87 died Saturday, December 26, 2004 at the Yalobusha County General Hospital in Water Valley. She had been a resident of Hermitage Gardens Assisted Living Faculity in Oxford for the past two years. Nell lived in Water Valley for many many years before her move to Hermitage. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Water Valley and a member of the Order of The Eastern Star. In addition to being a homemaker she worked for Sears as a speciality salesperson for several years.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 2:00 PM,one hour prior to the 3:00 PM funeral service at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Dr. Randy Bain will officiate at the service and serving as pallbearers will be: Joe Davis, Travis Clements, Eddie Ray, Butch Hayles, Curtis Berry, Charlie Womack, Billy Womack and Scooter Kent. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley by the side of her beloved husband, who preceded her in death, Robert Earl Gholson. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lena Bumfield Womack.
Suvivors include seven nephews; Jim Johnson of Jackson, MS, Charlie Womack of Sequin, TX, Ralph Womack of Dekalb, MS, Pat Womack of Baton Rogue, LA, Billy Womack, Jr. of Baton Rogue, LA, Tommy Womack of Sequin, TX and Harry Womack of Sarasota, FL.; one niece, Jacqueline (Pete) Saleh of Baton Rogue, LA.
Nell also leaves many many friends in the Water Valley area that will miss her tremendously.
