Philip W. “Papa” Lohner, 65,passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at home surrounded by his family after a strong and courageous battle with cancer the last 9 months. He may be gone, but he most certainly will never be forgotten.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 43 years, Nancy L. (Hall) Lohner, their daughter, Tracey L. wife of Ted J. Wroblewski, 2 grand-daughters, Hannah A. and Katie H. Wroblewski all of Oxford, 2 brothers, Erwin Lohner, Jr.of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Robert Lohner and his wife Pat of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, several nieces, nephews and friends, especially his lifelong childhood friend, Jack Bartolucci.
Philip was born in Somerville, New Jersey on April 19, 1949, son of the late Erwin and Amelia (Coons) Lohner, Sr. and has lived in Oxford since 1975.
He was also predeceased by his sister, Jeanette D. Mazar who passed away in 2011 and her husband Paul Mazar, Sr., who passed away in 2014.
Phil was a 1967 graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School-West, he then worked for Miles Shoes/Thom McAn for 30 years before retiring in his final position as a Senior Merchandising Director.
He and Nancy were together for 45 years this past Christmas and married July 24, 1971.
Phil was a ‘Huge Patriots Fan’, enjoyed cooking, reading Stephen King novels, gardening, turtles, stock car races and in his early years, drag racing.
Most of all, he enjoyed ‘spending time with his family’.
Phil was a devoted husband, loving father, wonderful “Papa” and caring brother, uncle and son to All his family.
He was a kind, caring, generous person who always put others before himself, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Phil will always be “FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS” and “SOMEDAY WE’LL BE TOGETHER”.

Please join us in a “Celebration of Phil’s Life” on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 1 PM in the ROBERT J. MILLER-OXFORD FUNERAL HOME, 247 Main St.
