Mary (Leone) Rapatano, a lunch mother at the Dame School for 35 years, died Wednesday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was 81.
Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Paolo and Concetta Leone. Mary lived in Medford for over 60 years. A loving and dedicated mother, she shared her love of life and positive attitute for nearly 35 years with the children of Medford’s Dame Elementary School, where she served as a lunch mother.
She was the beloved wife of the late Angelo Rapatano. She was a devoted mother to Paul Rapatano, Enza Rapatano-O’Connell,Tina Rapatano and Bella all of Medford. She was a dear sister to Salvatore Leone of Medford and Tina Gulino of Malden. Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Monday at 8 AM
followed by a 9 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Clement Church, Medford, with the Rev. James O'Driscoll, presiding. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
