CRYDER - Daphne Lovell Cryder, 86, of Fernandina Beach passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Community Hospice Warner Center in Fernandina Beach.
She was born May 5, 1928 in St. Marys, GA and moved to the Fernandina Beach with her family when she was two years old. She was a life-long resident since that time. She was a member of Five Points Baptist Church and a previous member of 14th Street Baptist Church and the Ester Sunday School Class. Mrs. Cryder enjoyed working the shrimp boat with her dad in the late 40's and continued to enjoy fishing and gardening throughout her lifetime.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Mae Hoffman Whitcomb and Mary Elizabeth Gaskill; a brother, Richard D. Lovell, Jr.; and her former spouse, Leo Cryder.
Survivors include three sons, Leo "Buddie" Cryder, Jr. (Tracy) of Yulee, FL, James W. Cryder (Vivi-Anne) of Fernandina Beach, FL, and Kevin L. Cryder of Yulee, FL; a daughter, Yvonne "Bonnie" C. Spivey (Ben) of Fernandina Beach, FL; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, at Five Points Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Camarotti officiating. A reception will follow at the church.
