Raymonde T. (Gagnon) Cimon, 91 of Topsfield, died January 4, 2015 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading following a long illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Roger P. Cimon.
Born in Baie St. Paul, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Onesime and Albina (Mailloux) Gagnon. The oldest of ten children, Raymonde helped raise her siblings and still found time to study voice and sing in opera productions in Quebec City. Following her marriage to Roger, the couple made their home in Salem, MA where they began their young family. The family later moved to Gardner. Following the death of Roger in 1993, she returned to the North Shore. She has been a resident of Little Brook Village of Topsfield.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was woman of many interests. She managed to nurtured her love of singing by singing in several church choirs, including St. John the Evangelist of Beverly and more recently St. Rose of Lima in Topsfield. Raymonde also had a passion for cooking, painting and classical music.
She is survived by her daughter Johanne Cimon fo Leominster, Norman Cimon and wife Shelley of La Grande, OR, Claude Cimon and wife Lauretta of Beverly and Brian Cimon and wife Kathleen of Topsfield, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves four sisters Gislaine, Nicole, Lise and Jocelyn and her brother Michel as well as nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Mass on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 12 Park St., Topsfield. There will be no visiting hours. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Levesque Funeral Home of Salem.
