Frank X. White, 73, formerly of Sequim, WA died Wednesday, December 22, 2004 in the Villa Crest Nursing home, Manchester, NH. Mr. White was born in Boston, MA on June 23, 1931, a son of the late Samuel X. and Ellen R. (Crowne) White. He was a resident of Derry for the past year, formerly living in Sequim, WA and Fairfield, CA. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was very civic minded and was a member of many community organizations. He was a member of the Navy League and also the VFW Post 4760 in Sequim, WA where he was a former Chaplain and Commander. He retired after many years from Mare Island Naval Ship Yard in Vallejo, CA where he was involved in the design, construction, and repair of US nuclear submarines.
He is survived by two sons, Steven F. White and his wife Lynn of Derry, NH, John D. White and his wife Nona of Fort Worth, TX, one daughter, Carol J. "CJ" White of Belfair, WA, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one sister, Julie C. Wentzell of Bristol, RI, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Mary H. (Specht) White in 1970 and his sister Mary R. Stevens in 1992.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday December 27th at 11:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Crystal Avenue, Derry, NH. Friends may call on Monday from 8:45 - 10:15am at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry prior to the funeral Mass. Graveside services will be held at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield, CA at a later date. Bryan-Baker Funeral Home, Fairfield, CA will handle those arrangements.
