Angel G. Contreras, 42, of New Bedford died Tuesday December 21, 2004 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Erie Cabral Contreras.
Born in San Sebastian, Spain, the son of Ramona (Bretal) Contreras of New Bedford and the late Angel M. Contreras, he had lived in New Bedford for the past 25 years.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church.
Mr. Contreras was employed as a laborer for the Laborers' International Union of North America Local 876 in Taunton.
He served in the Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; two daughters, Angelee Contreras and Brandi Roderick, both of New Bedford; a stepson, Brandon Cabral of New Bedford; a sister, Ana Contreras of New Bedford; his grandmother, Ramona Marino of New Bedford; and three nieces, Yanire Gomez, Cristina Rebeiro and Taylee Rebeiro.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Monday December 27, 2004 at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday December 26, 2004 from 3-7 PM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
