Obituary

Edward G. Macduff, of Webster died Friday, January 16th in Lanessa Extended Care. He leaves his wife, Donna (Michaels) Macduff; a son Richard Macduff of Worcester; two daughters, Kathleen Anderson of Boylston and Christine Robillard of Spencer; a brother, Alex Trenta of Sutton and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie Shultes.
He was born in Cleveland, OH the son of John and Claire (Tassiker) Macduff. Edward was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. Mr. Macduff had a strong work ethic. He retired from the Worcester Regional Transit Authority where he was the director of safety and training. He was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 22. Upon retirement Edward received the key to the City of Worcester, a proclamation from then Governor William Weld, a community service award from the Worcester Sherriff’s Department and received a gavel from the transit authority for his safety program. Edward’s hobby was trains this was a lifelong passion. He enjoyed gardening he especially loved his roses. Mr. Macduff loved wildlife he often played a game with his wife, Donna trying to identify what kind of bird was at their feeder. He liked camping at the White Mountains or Cape Cod.
Calling hours are Wednesday, January 21st from 10:00 until 11:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472 or to Lanessa Extended Care, 751 School Street, Webster, MA 01570.
