Marguerite L. (Griffin) Meserve, age 97, of East Falmouth, formerly of Brockton, died January 14, 2015 at Falmouth Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Kenneth W. Meserve. Born and raised in Abington, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence J. and Isabelle G. (MacArthur) Griffin. Marguerite was a graduate of Abington High School, class of 1935 and Bridgewater Secretarial School. She had been employed as a Secretary at Avon Sole, Walkover Shoe Company and retired in 1983 after 23 years as an Executive Secretary for the Shawmut Bank of Boston. Marguerite was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony and St. Patrick Churches in Falmouth, and was a member of the Leprechaun Club at St. Patrick’s Church. She was a world traveler, enjoyed cruises, knitting and shopping.
Marguerite is survived by her son Kenneth Meserve of East Falmouth; two grandsons Tim and Jeff Meserve; and one great grandson Brady Meserve. She was the sister of the late John and Bernard Griffin, Patricia Fleming and Eleanor Thomas.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. Patrick Church, 335 Main Street, Brockton, at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
