Dorothy N. Corcelli, 80, formerly of Argonne Street, Johnston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2015 after battling a two month illness. She was the wife of the late Anthony “Tony” Corcelli, her soul mate.
Born in Providence a daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret Gillooly-Curley- Dalton. She lived more than half of her life in Johnston and the last 2 years was a resident of Cortland Place in Smithfield.
Dorothy graduated Classical in 1952 Suma Cum Laude and chose to care for her father, rather than attend college. She worked for 33 years as a teller for Hospital Trust Bank/Bank of Boston and retired in 1995 from Bank of America to care for her loving husband Tony who passed away in 2003. Her passion was her customers and taking care of others. She loved to listen and sing to the old songs and her theme song for life was “I Did It My Way.” She was a member of Johnston Sr. Center until taking ill in 2012 and had been a communicant at Holy Cross Church in Providence.
She is survived by her children Mary (Stevens) Corcelli Markrush and her husband Michael of Foster, Ken (Stevens) Corcelli and Lyndalu Pieranunzi of Scituate, Karen Corcelli of Saybrook, Ct and Steven Corcelli of Warwick; her grandchildren Dalton and Landon Markrush, Kaela, Dan and Joe Corcelli and Sterling Barbosa. She was the sister of the late John and Francis Curley and Margaret Curley Shea.
The family wishes to thank the Johnston Sr. Center, Cortland Place, Miriam Hospital, Nancy Ann Nursing Home and Coventry Health Center for their help and support of the past few months and years. Dorothy loved you all and would say thank you.
Funeral Tuesday at 9am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence.
