Alice Marie (Lincourt) Michael, formerly Young, age 90, passed away peacefully at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL on January 7, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fall River, she was the wife of the late August “Gas” Michael and daughter of the late John and Delia (Gordon) Lincourt. Prior to retirement she worked as the cafeteria manager at Diman Vocational High School and was a cook at Fall River Country Club, Cliff Manor Nursing Home and Bay View Retirement Home.
Alice was the loving mother of James Young of Vero Beach, FL, Juanita Cox of Micco, FL, Gloria Durand of Vero Beach, FL, and predeceased son, Mark Steven Young of Fall River, MA; step-mother of Fred Michael and Mary Lou Bienvenue, both of Somerset; sister of Ethel Yousif, Florence Helger, Marie Lincourt, and Dorothy Braybrant. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a number of great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings Raymond Lincourt, John Lincourt, Joseph Lincourt, Evelyn Pacheco, Rita Trottier, Mary Leary, Matilda Beaulieu and Blanche Levesque.
While living in Vero Beach with her caretaker daughter Gloria and granddaughter Liz Mayo, she enjoyed these past few years to the fullest. “Mema” Alice loved animals, scrabble, cooking and her Boston Red Sox. She always treated everyone as family, and enjoyed a day at the casino or at bingo.
Her funeral arrangements were under the direction of Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 25 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Please gather at the entrance of the cemetery to proceed to the gravesite.
