Evans, GA – Berta Scholl Beshiri, 86, wife of the late Vasil Beshiri, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 13, 2015.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Berta was born in Germany. She met her husband while he was serving in the U.S. Army in Europe after WWII. They married, she travelled to the United States, and she began her life as a mother and the wife of a career Army soldier. One of her proudest accomplishments was becoming a naturalized U.S citizen. Berta finished schooling in Germany as an architect. She worked many years in Civil Service at numerous Army posts, including many years as a manager with the Exchange Service at Fort Gordon. Berta loved gardening and working outdoors. She loved books and was an avid reader. She enjoyed dancing and was an accomplished ballroom dancer in her later years. She enjoyed all types of crafts, especially crocheting. Berta also held a special place in her heart for animals and her beloved pets. She was a former resident of Washington Commons and was currently residing in Marshall Square Retirement Community. Berta loved spending time with her family and was truly influential in many of their lives.
Survivors include her son; Michael W. Beshiri (Barbara) of Conyers, GA, three daughters; Dolores Vasquez (Omar) of Evans, GA, Valerie Chancey (Rick) of N. Augusta, SC, Evelyn Smith of Hephzibah, GA, nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
