Obituary

Lellie M. Couture, 94, formerly of 37 Gilford Ave. died December 22, 2004 in Lakes Region General Hospital. She was born in Laconia on August 28, 1910, the daughter of Albert and Rose (Fugere) Landry and had lived in Laconia all of her life.

Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a sales clerk at O’Shea’s Department Store for many years. In addition she had worked with her late husband, Arthur Couture operating the Busy Corner Variety Store.

Mrs. Couture was a communicant of Sacred Heart parish and was a member of the Dames de St. Anne. She was a member of the Laconia Business Women’s Club, the St. Jean Baptiste Auxiliary and a member of the St. Jean Drill Team.

A talented artist, she enjoyed sharing her paintings with all her children and grandchildren. Her husband, Arthur P. Couture died in 1969.

Family members include two daughters, Elizabeth A. Duquette of West Hartford, CT and Suzanne M. Fraser of Palm Harbor, FL; six grandchildren, Marc Duquette, Paul Duquette, David Duquette, Michelle Lewis, Stephen Duquette and Lisa Gausman; 11 great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Rose Cote.

Calling hours were in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Sunday from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave. Monday at 11:30 AM. Rev. Adrien Longchamps. Pastor was the celebrant. Spring burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber were the funeral directors.
