Obituary

Arthur R. Lufkin, 97, of Needham, who was a food broker for DCA of America and had owned his own company, died Mon Dec 20, 2004 at his home in Needham.
Born in Revere, he graduated from Univ. of Maine in Orono. Following his graduation he taught high school science in Belfast ME, where he also was the coach of the football, track and basketball teams. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and was discharged as a Lt. He worked in the food brokerage industry for many years and had operated ARL Brokerage in Portland ME.
His daughters remember Mr. Lufkin as an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing and skiing. He also was an avid golfer and was a member of the Sr. Men’s Group at Leo J. Martin Golf Course in Weston.
He was the husband of the late Kathryn (Small) Lufkin and is survived by his daughters Deborah Storrs of Needham and Kathryn Fleming of Medfield, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends will gather at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Thurs Dec 23 at 9 AM and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew Church at 10 AM. Interment will be private in Steep Falls Cemetery in Standish ME.
