Worcester: Joel M. Sullivan, 78, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015, in UMASS Memorial Medical Center University Campus. He leaves 5 sons Brett Sullivan, Ross Sullivan, Scott Sullivan, Jeffrey Sullivan, and Joel Sullivan Jr.; a daughter Erin Sullivan-Silva; 2 brothers, 3 sisters, his former wife and her husband Corinne and Stephen Arnold; and several nieces and nephews.
Joel was born in Pennsylvania, son of the late William and Edith (Hobbes) Sullivan. Following graduation from high school, Joel proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He then worked as a route serviceman for the Canteen Corp. of Waltham. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, crosswords aficionado, food critic and joke teller. "He was a man that would tolerate being called a lot of things, as long as he wasn't called late to dinner".
Joel will be laid to rest on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery 111 Glenallen St. Winchendon, MA 01475. There are no calling hours.
