Manchester– Cecile (Richard) Capistran 87, died January 1, 2015 at Birch Hill Terrace following a period of declining health.
She was born in Manchester on December 27, 1927, the daughter of Julien and Marie (Sylvestre) Richard.
She graduated from St. Marie grammar school, and Sisters of the Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson NH. She receive her Bachelors degree from Rivier College in Nashua NH, and her Masters degree from Boston University.
She was a teacher and a speech therapist in a variety of schools. In her later years she was a docent at the Currier Art Gallery.
She held membership in the Currier Art Gallery, Centre Franco- Americain, Manchester Women's Club and Club Richelieu.
She is predeceased by her husband Judge Armand Capistran (2007) and grandson Luke Capistran (2011). Living family members include 3 sons, Conrad Capistran of North Hampton MA, Charles Capistran of Manchester, Richard Capistran of Derry, and one daughter Celeste Ciesla of Villa Park, IL, 11 beloved grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services: Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM in St. Joseph Cathedral, Corner of Pine and Lowell St.
Committal prayers will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
