Claire R. (Daoust) Gaucher,86, of 91 So.Spencer Rd., died Sunday, Dec. 19 at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster.
Her husband of 62 years, Arthur N. Gaucher, died June 22. She leaves two sons Roger C. Gaucher and Roland F. husband of Karen E. Gaucher both of Spencer, a daughter Lorelle C. wife of John Morrow of Lawrenceville, Ga., a sister Cecile Hoover of Federal Way, Wash., four grandaughters Kristen and Megan Gaucher, Heather Gianfriddo and Natalie Morrow, four great grandchildren, Josiah, Elijah, Noah and Joshua Gianfriddo, several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother Roger Daoust.
Mrs. Gaucher was a shoeworker for many years at the former Brookfield Shoe Co., retiring in 1983. An accomplished pianist, she was a member of the Spencer Golden Age Club where she played at many group functions. She was a member of St. Mary's Church spending time in the Adoration Chapel and a member of the So. Spencer Community Club. She graduated from David Prouty High School.
Born in Spencer, she was the daughter of Rosario and Bernadette (O'Coin) Daoust.
The funeral will be held, Wednesday, Dec. 22 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 60 Maple St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary,Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Tuesday, Dec. 21 from 6 to 8p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Spencer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 147, Spencer, 01562.
