Ruby McDermott, 93, of Anderson went to be with her Lord on December 30, 2014 after a brief illness.
She was born December 22, 1921 in Brownsville, Kentucky to Willard and Annie (Ray) Parsley.
She was a homemaker and a loving mother. She was a member of East 38th Street Freewill Baptist Church.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and reading the Bible.
She is survived by her three children, Dorothy Manis (husband, Dennis Plackard) of Anderson; Janet (husband, Edward) Cooper of Louisville, KY; Terry (wife, Karen) Stephens of Anderson and stepson, Larry McDermott of Swayze, IN; brother, James Willard (wife, Vernitta) Parsley, Jr. of Smith Grove, KY; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James McDermott in 2003; daughter & son-in-law; Joann (Jack) Basso; three brothers, Shirley Parsley, Irvin Parsley, and James Huston Parsley and a sister, Helen Dossey.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Eric Fox and Rev. Carroll Cullipher officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be noon until 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Community Hospice.
