Northbridge – Marie B. (Martel) Fletcher, 84, of Northbridge, formerly of Worcester, died on Tuesday, December 30th in her home after an illness.
Marie was married to the late Leo R. Fletcher Sr. for 52 years who died in 2006. She is survived by a daughter, Jane Tromovitch of Shrewsbury; a daughter in law, Edith Fletcher of Northbridge, with whom she lived; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and many nephews and nieces.
Marie was born in Holden, daughter of the late Martin and Jane (Spring) Martel and is also predeceased by two sons, Leo Fletcher and David Bonin; a daughter, Beverly Hebert and a sister, June Barton.
Mrs. Fletcher worked for many years at the former Doctor’s Hospital in Worcester.
The funeral will be held on Monday, January 5th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a Mass at 10 AM in Christ the King Church 1052 Pleasant St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, January 4th from 5 to 7 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Marie may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League 139 Holden Street Worcester, MA 01606.
