Russell Bradford Seamans
age 101

ANDOVER: Russell Bradford Seamans, age 101, a resident of Andover for 74 years, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 24, 2014.
He was the beloved husband of Theresa (Bergeron) Seamans, who passed away on August 18, 1999, at which time they had been married for 59 years.
Born in Tewksbury on April 11, 1913, he was the son of the late Joseph H. Seamans and the late Annie Mae (Bradford) Seamans.
Russell was raised in Tewksbury. He attended Tewksbury schools and the Lowell Vocational High School.
As a young man, he worked his father's dairy farm until asthma forced a career change in 1948. Russell later worked for the C.D. Glennie Company and NEMPA. Following that, Russell worked as a Security Officer for the Raytheon Company at the West Andover facility until his retirement in 1975. In addition, Russell was proud of his 42 years as an Auxiliary Police Officer for the Town of Andover. "Rusty" as he was known, worked traffic and construction details well into his 70's.
He was a dedicated and lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Tewksbury, where he served on numerous committees and assisted with many repair projects.
His survivors include a son, Paul J. Seamans and his wife Jill of North Andover; a daughter, Janet A. Wallace and her husband Norman of Andover; four grandchildren, Paul J. Seamans, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Atkinson, NH, Scott D. Wallace, Erin W. Warren and her husband William, Sarah B. Cooper and her husband Jesse, all of Andover; three great grandchildren, Andrew George and Emma Theresa Seamans, and Mason Russell Cooper; one sister, Marion Patch of Andover; a sister-in-law, Yvette Ouellette of Lowell; also many nieces and nephews.
Russell was pre-deceased by his sister, Edna Milnes and very dear friend, Laura Donner.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Tuesday, January 6, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church. 1500 Andover St., Rte. 133, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1500 Andover St., Tewksbury, MA 01876.
