Nannie R. Grimes, 72, of Ocilla, Georgia, and her husband Roe Cecil "Waterbug" Busbin, died Saturday, December 18, 2004 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Ocilla, with the Rev. David Capps, the Rev. Dan Johnson and the Rev. Ronny Griner officiating. Interment will follow in Fletcher Cemetery, Irwin County. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00 Monday evening.
Mrs. Grimes was born September 11, 1932, in Savannah, Tennessee, to the late James Carl and Flora Bell Hill McLin. She moved to Irwin County in 1963 and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Grimes was a former machine operator and seamstress at a garment factory.
Mrs. Grimes is survived by her children: Ruth Key, Tifton, GA, Charles Grimes, Waynesboro, TN, Peggy Grimes and Janet Bennett, both of Irwin County and Carrol Hank Tanner, Jeff Davis County; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; four sisters: Ollie McLin, Nesbit, MS, Blanche Wilkerson, Savannah, TN, Sue Bryant, Adamsville, TN and Emma Brown, Sarasota, FL; three brothers: Jake, Jack and Pete McLin, all of Savannah, TN. She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Gene Grimes, two brothers and two sisters.
