Franklin------- Carolyn “Kandi” Poisson, 67, of 76 Elm Avenue, died at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA on Thursday, December 25, 2014, surrounded by her family. Kandi’s strength and determination in the fight against cancer started in the Fall of 2013. Her always positive and upbeat attitude lasted throughout the fourteen month battle ending on Christmas Day.
Kandi was born on June 21, 1947 in Franklin, NH, daughter of the late Roland and Dorothy (Akerman) Libby and was a longtime resident of the Hill and Bristol area before moving to Franklin in 1968. She was a graduate of Newfound Memorial High School and attended the University of New Hampshire, Durham.
After her children were school aged, Kandi managed clothing stores in downtown Franklin. Formally a cheerleader in high school Kandi enjoyed coaching cheerleading in the Franklin and Winnisquam School Districts. Kandi’s creative gift of interior decorating was generously shared with family and friends, but her most enjoyable and epic decorating was of the family home for the Christmas Season.
Kandi was passionately devoted to her family. Survivors include her husband of forty-seven years, David Poisson, of Franklin; their children, Gina Re Poisson of Concord and Timothy Poisson of Somerville, MA; her sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Blythe Morrison, of Dover, NH; nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Friday, January 2, 2015 from 1pm-3pm at the Thibeault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St, Franklin. Internment will take place in the Spring.
The family requests no flowers. Donations made in her memory may be made to the Fixit Program Endowment Fund, PO Box 1016, Concord, NH 03302.
