Charles Leonard “Linny” Simpson, 71, of Tifton died Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Simpson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Poulan Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Family members and friends will give eulogies. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Matthew Simpson, Michael Simpson, Kenneth Hamblin and John Houston will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Simpson was born on August 10, 1943 in Colquitt County and was the son of Eulyn Carroll Simpson and Ludie Mae Alligood Simpson, both deceased. He graduated from Valdosta State University with honors and was an entrepreneur. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the JAG Office from 1961-1965.
Mr. Simpson is survived by two sons, Michael Simpson of Tifton and Matthew Simpson of Atlanta; three daughters, Melissa Hamblin of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Karen Garren of Canton and Suzanne Usina of St. Johns, Florida; one sister, Lynette Williams of Vada; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
