Obituary

Harry A. Sears, 79, of New Bedford died December 18, 2004 at his brothers home in Bluffton, SC, after a long illness.
He was the husband of the late Orpha (Demers) Sears.
Born in Providence, RI, the son of the late Harry A. and Della R. (Joyce) Sears, he had lived in New Bedford for the past 50 years.
Mr. Sears was formerly employed as a salesman for Corcoran Plumbing Supply in Fall River until his retirement.
He was a former communicant of St. Anne's Church.
Mr. Sears served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Country Club of New Bedford.
Mr. Sears was active in local politics,was active in the Knights of Columbus and was an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert V. Sears of Cranston, RI, and Richard L. Sears of Bluffton, SC; a sister, Rose Sears Craven of North Kingstown, RI; a godson, Stephen Craven; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Edward F. Sears and Barbara A. Dickerman.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Wednesday, December 22nd at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Tuesday, December 21st from 4-8 PM.
Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford.
