Obituary

Mary A. "Sis" (Connolly) Schievink-Farrell, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Christmas Day, December 25, 2014 unexpectedly at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 80 years old.

Sis was born in Boston on July 18, 1934, a daughter of the late John Connolly and Mary (Merrick) Connolly. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system. Sis worked at Schraffts Candy Company in Charlestown for several years before its closing and also worked for many years as a Manager for the Boston Public School system at Charlestown High School, The Harvard-Kent School and The Clarence R. Edwards School. She enjoyed playing bingo and pokeno and enjoyed shopping. Her favorite time in her life was the quality time she was able to spend with each one of her grandchildren. She was a member of The Daughters of Isabella # 1.

Sis is the beloved wife of the late William J. Farrell. She is the devoted mother of Robert Schievink and his wife Susan of Charlestown, Richard Schievink of Charlestown, Jack Schievink of Charlestown, Liane Devine and her husband Richard of Tewksbury and Katie Mabardi and her husband Mitchell of Medford. She is the loving Grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Grace Connolly of Charlestown and the late Catherine Rooney, Robert Connolly, Henry Connolly, Jack Connolly and Richard Connolly. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sis's Funeral on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visiting hours will be on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
