Maria E. DeRosa, age 60, died peacefully at her Medford home, on Friday March 29, 2002. She was born in Acushnet, on August 29, 1941 to Armando and Eva (Rosario) Antonio.
She was a resident of Medford for 7 years, formerly of Cambridge. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Assumption Church in New Bedford.
She was employed as a Civil Rights Manager for 11 years for the MA Turnpike Authority. She was a member of the Medford Garden Club, past president of 808 Tenant Council in Cambridge.
She is the loving mother of Roland K. and his wife, Vanessa M. deBarros of Medford and SSG Stephen D. deBarros of MO. Devoted sister of Antonio A. DeRosa of Dorchester. Cherished grandmother of Stephen D., Jr., Victoria A., Kiara N., Racquel A. deBarros and the late Roland K. deBarros, Jr. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Assumption Church, 47 South 6th Street, New Bedford, Wednesday at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Interment, St. John Cemetery, New Bedford.
