Peggy Padgett Seigler, 78, of Tifton died Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014, at the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Donovan and Rev. Paul Thomas officiating. Mrs. Seigler will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 28, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Seigler’s grandsons, Lucian Cobb, Chip Seigler, Alex Seigler, her son-in-law, Arlen Fossen, Jim Hunter, Jim Seigler and Jay Baughman will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Merle Bowen Sunday School class and members of the I. D. Morgan Sunday School class at Tifton’s First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Seigler was born on September 7, 1936 in Gulfport, Mississippi and was the daughter of Norman Padgett and Vernie Cuevas Padgett, both deceased. She was a teacher’s aide at Northside Elementary and a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Tifton Garden Club.
Mrs. Seigler is survived by her husband, Gene Seigler of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Kurt and Kim Seigler of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Karmi and Arlen Fossen of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three sisters, Linda Schoen of Las Vegas, Nevada, Beverly Ray of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Patti Padgett of Gulfport, Mississippi; and four grandchildren, Lucian Cobb of Durham, North Carolina, Kendall Fossen of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Chip Seigler and Alex Seigler, both of Tifton.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to the Merle Bowen Sunday School Class at Tifton’s First Baptist Church, 404 Love Avenue, Tifton, GA 31794.
