Obituary

John F. Petrycki, a resident of Windham, New Hampshire, formerly of North Andover and beloved husband of Catherine (Shea) Petrycki, died at the Grace House of Windham on December 21,2014. He was 84 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on September 7, 1930, he was the beloved son of the late Theodore and Sadie (Terleski) Petrycki. John was a graduate of the Hyde Park School, class of 1948. He had served in the US Marine Corps, entering the military in Boston on July 31, 1950 and receiving his honorable discharge from Quantico, Virginia, on January 6, 1952.
A graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology, John spent ten (10) years at the institute as a Color Researcher/Technical Editor in the Graphic Arts Department where he published several articles on Offset Technology. John was employed as the Production Manager at The Eagle Tribune for 29 years. John joined The Eagle Tribune in 1968 when the newspaper was preparing to radically change its style of printing and move into a brand new location. John was instrumental in putting The Eagle Tribune on the technology newspaper map. As they won many awards for printing quality over those years and were voted New England's "Newspaper of the Year" by their peers, ten times more than any other New England newspaper. In his spare time, John loved to be at his summer home in Campton, New Hampshire and being on his boat on Squam Lake. Above all, John loved being with his grandchildren, teaching them about the outdoors. He will be dearly missed.
Besides his loving wife of 59 years, Catherine, John is survived by his loving children; John F. and his wife Denise Petrycki, Jr. of Campton, New Hampshire, Paul and his wife Michelle and Michael Petrycki and Kathryn Petrycki, all of Windham, New Hampshire, grandchildren; James Reilly and his wife Diana of Windham, New Hampshire, Jessica Butler and her husband Dan of Kennewick, Washington, Holly Petrycki of Windham, New Hampshire and Lauren and Robbie Petrycki both of Campton, New Hampshire and great-granddaughter; Avery Butler of Kennewick, Washington.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Michael Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, on Friday, December 26, 2014, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 PM. Interment will be held in Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover. Donations in John's memory may be made to St Michaels Church, North Andover, MA 01845.
