Dennis; Jean Gilbertson and her husband Bob of No. Grafton; Mary Twohig and her husband Paul of Wellesley and John Buckley and his wife Deirdre of Wilmington, DE. She leaves six nieces and a nephew. Katy also leaves a devoted and loving staff of caregivers and friends at the Middleboro Skilled Care Center.
Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Dennis. Catherine P. "Katy" Buckley, 46 years of Middleboro, formerly of Brockton died peacefully at Morton Hospital in Taunton, December 17. Katy was born in Boston daughter of John D. and Patricia A. (Blunt) Buckley of South Dennis. She was raised in Cohasset and Brockton, where she excelled on the Brockton High Tennis team. She was a graduate of Brockton High School class of 1976 and was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst class of 1980 where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Katy began her career as an accountant for the Boston Gas Company. Early in her career, Katy suffered a devastating spinal cord injury. For the past 23 years, Katy has been an inspiration to all those who knew and loved her. She faced constant pain with a smile and incredible dignity.
