Helen Borozny, 97, of Cumberland died Monday morning at Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island Philip Hulitar Center in Providence. She was the loving wife of the late Michael Borozny, Sr. who died in 1971.
Mrs. Borozny was born and raised in Providence and upon her marriage moved to Cumberland where she resided for over 75 years.
Helen was a dedicated homemaker when raising her family and later worked for Health-Tex in Cumberland. She was a talented cook and enjoyed gardening and keeping up her skills through word-find and crossword puzzles.
Helen was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two sons Michael Borozny, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne, of Cumberland, John Borozny and his wife, Jeannine, of Woonsocket, a daughter Helen R. Gibola and her husband, Edward, of Cumberland, 6 grandchildren Danielle Coughlin, Michael N. Borozny, Jeffrey Borozny, Jared Borozny, Heather Tessier and Kerrie Setaro and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by all of her siblings and is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Her funeral service will be Friday at 11:00 am in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 71 Central St. Manville. Burial will follow in St. Stephen Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Friday morning from 10:00-11:00 am prior to services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI. 1085 North Main St. Providence, RI. 02904.
