WEBSTER - Roberta A. (Verdone) Malboeuf, a lifelong resident of Webster, died peacefully December 20, 2014 at home after a courageous battle with lung cancer with her husband Emile and her family by her side. Roberta’s strong faith in Christ is what guided her through the past months and allowed her to be at peace with our Lord. Many prayers and wishes were said for her by several of her relatives and friends through the months which are very well appreciated.
She leaves her husband Emile Malboeuf; three loving daughters, Jodi Munsch and her husband John of North Grosvenordale, CT, Megan Therrien and her husband Mike, and Jenna Christian and her husband Rob, all of Webster; two loving sons, Randall Malboeuf and his wife Gail of Oxford, and Cory Malboeuf and his wife Jane of Dudley; eight grandchildren, Michael, Amanda, Taber, Samantha, Drew, Emma, Abby and Sean; three step-grandchildren, Kayla, Tory and Tyler; one great-granddaughter Alexia; three sisters, Jean Silvestri, Pauline Daskowski and her husband Arthur, and Johnna Lussier and her husband Richard, all of Webster, one brother, Thomas Verdone and his wife Claire of Dudley; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
She was born in Webster, a daughter of the late William and Maryanne (Gursky) Verdone and graduated from Saint Louis High School in 1960.
She was a very faithful and loving wife of 50 years to Emile, whom she married in 1964. For all her life she maintained strong friendships with several of her high school classmates and many others in the town of Webster. Her children could not have had a better mother as well as grandmother to their children. She was a lover and caretaker of any kind of animal that happened by her doorstep, whether domestic or wild. She will be missed by all of us.
The funeral will be held Monday, December 29, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours are from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, December 28, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
